Strom Flow

Jessica and Matthew are here to foster wellness, artistry, and magic in the world

We aim to be part of a community that strives to know themselves, to learn from their ancestors and how to be part of the work to dismantle the dominant imperialist culture that has dominated globally. We will continue to strive to do our own work, know ourselves, our histories, and the narratives that we were not taught in school.

In solidarity, love, and growth,

Jess & Matt

Jessica (she/her/siya) is a mother and writer working on her first book, a collection of small moments that portray the deep love between a human and her animal companion. Promenades with trees, sitting amongst flowers, observing squirrels, and time with her daughter are moments she cherishes. Creating holistic offerings that draw upon the mind, body, soul and spirit of our inner and outer worlds brings Jessica immense fulfillment and purpose.

She is a ceremonialist who honors small transitions through the day, transitions in life, evolving identities, and in particular, moments of loss and grief. With a masters in psychology from New York University, she is adept at viewing the world through repeating patterns and the cycles in our stories that need to break. Her ongoing scholarship draws her toward herbalism, writing, education and decolonization, a path that has led her to seek further study in counseling psychology at the doctoral level. A trained classical pianist and former touring synth player, Jessica also offers remote piano lessons to those who wish to explore their emotions and a passion for self-expression through music. Incorporating more movement into her practice led her to become an early learning music and movement instructor at a local dance studio.

Fun Fact:

In summer of 2019, Jess and Matt were blessed to be able to visit her motherland, The Philippines. They spent time with her family, in particular her Lolo Ben (Grandpa Ben) who is her last living grandparent, and visited ancestors’ resting sites. Pamilya (Family) generously treated them to special sites, where they experienced nostalgic places for her parents and the gorgeous natural beauty of las Pilipinas. Maraming Salamat (Many Thanks).

Matthew (he/him) is a creator, ecologist, and educator. He brings magic to the world through his art, music, and unique RPGs. Bringing his science curriculum to youth is a rewarding daily experience.

Matt currently teaches biology and physics at a private school in NYC. In 2015, he earned a M.S. in Ecology. His research focused on the interactions between insects and blueberry plants in the Pine Barrens. He is also a self-taught graphic designer. During undergraduate study, Matt focused on biology and music courses. While completing his baccalaureate, his extracurriculars included contributing to the college radio station, playing in a band, as well as honing his skills as a cellist.

Fun Fact:

Matt is grateful he was able to spend a semester in Galway and learned more about his Irish heritage. He will cherish memories of listening to music in pubs, serene walks and bike rides along the water, and hosting his Mom, brother, and sister when they came to visit him. In addition to Ireland, Matt can trace his roots to Sweden, Britain, and France.
